New technical manager strengthens Actis team as customer base expands

Insulation specialist Actis has augmented its technical team with the appointment of an architectural designer as technical manager.

Harsha Mistry steps into the newly created role to work alongside longstanding UK and Ireland technical director, architect Thomas Wiedmer.

Her appointment will enable the wider technical and specification team to offer support to Actis’ growing customer base across the UK.

Before joining Actis Harsha was involved in a variety of hospitality, residential and commercial projects in the UK and India, working closely on-site with builders and craftsman, where her in-depth knowledge of materials, joinery and detail drawings were invaluable.

The launch earlier this year of a major new Actis product, a two-in-one reflective insulation with an integrated vapour barrier, has seen a marked leap in interest in the already popular Actis range.

The latest product in the Actis stable, Eolis HC, has been designed to enable builders and roofers to reduce the number of steps required to achieve an impressive U-value as well as airtightness in roofs.

The revolutionary Triplex technology at its core ensures installation is not only twice as quick as traditional alternatives, but will also transform the loft and barn conversion sector where headroom is at a premium due to shallow rafters

Eolis HC sits alongside the Hybrid range which also helps counteract thermal bridging and improve U-values.

These include honeycomb style insulation Hybris, the only reflective insulation in Europe to earn international Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze for its sustainability credentials, insulating breather membrane BoostR Hybrid and insulating vapour control layer HControl Hybrid.

Actis UK and Ireland sales director Mark Cooper said: “Harsha’s appointment means we can expand our technical resource as we enjoy continued growth. With the net zero target drawing ever closer, more and more specifiers are appreciating that our range of insulation solutions offer a quick, clean and easy way to create a thermally efficient building.

“Harsha and Thomas’ technical backgrounds mean they understand the very complex issues faced by architects and specifiers. They have both worked at the coalface in the construction industry, so speak the same language as those aiming to build the energy efficient homes of the future as well as improve the thermal performance of existing properties through retrofitting.”

Harsha added: “I’m passionate about helping the construction industry work towards net zero. It’s great to join a company which shares my goals and values and is playing such a major role in helping the profession achieve this.”
