Sussex builder achieves ‘the best’ U-value with quick, clean and easy Actis Hybrid

A Sussex builder is finishing work on his latest project – using his favourite Actis Hybris insulation again because it is so clean and easy and saves him plenty of time!

John Gilham Hills, whose company Hope Inns specialises in timber frame buildings, new builds and extensions, has just completed a loft conversion and is now working on an annexe near Brighton which he is insulating with the honeycomb style insulation.

Having previously used PIR board he is now a huge fan of the Actis Hybrid alternative whose range also includes two insulating membranes – a vapour control layer and a breather membrane, both of which help eliminate thermal bridging.

“I’ve achieved the best U-values,” said John.

The Actis U-value simulator (which is backed up with real life technical support) shows that just the 75mm Hybris John is using between the studs in the new build annexe will achieve a U-value of 0.35. Were he to add BoostR Hybrid and HControl Hybrid to the mix he’d reach 0.15. And with a thicker Hybris could get down to 0.09!
