Actis’ new East of England area sales manager aims to increase merchant training
Offering training sessions to merchants and distributors across the East of England is a top priority for Actis’ newly appointed area sales manager, Jerrell Paton.
Jerrell’s is the latest appointment to the expanding sales and specification team. He will help increase awareness of the benefits of the Actis Hybrid range of insulation and insulating membrane products, whose popularity is growing across the UK.
Jerrell has seven years’ experience in sales and customer service and has previously worked in the power industry.
He aims to strengthen existing relationships with merchants and distributors and forge new ones throughout the East of England. Running training sessions and trade days for their sales teams and providing educational materials highlighting the benefits of the products to their customers will form a key part of his role.
“I enjoy building a rapport with people and am looking forward to extending my reach to merchants who haven’t yet had the benefit of finding out how Actis products can help their customers.
“Colleagues in other parts of the UK tell me merchants who’ve taken part in our training sessions have found them very helpful.
“Perhaps the main thing which surprises merchants and distributors is the fact that as well as being thermally efficient – which should go without saying – the products are so quick, easy and clean to use. These seem to the aspects which really catch their imagination and are big bonuses for their customers.
“Builders who haven’t had the advantage of knowing about the products may otherwise carry on using solid insulation with all the dust and aggravation that entails.”
Jerrell says the wider Actis team has been very supportive and helpful since he joined the company.
“It’s more like a family really,” he said.
Regional sales director for the South East, Steve Ellis, who formerly combined his directorial role with managing sales in the East of the country, will now be able to devote more time to growing the business in that corner of England.
“It’s brilliant to have Jerrell on the team,” he said. “He’s very personable and hard working – both important qualities for someone taking on a busy sales role.”
