Actis sales duo help Elliotts builders merchant raise more than £7,000 at charity golf day

Two of the Actis sales team have helped Hampshire builders’ merchant Ellliotts raise more than £7,000 for three charities by taking part in a fun golf day.

Regional sales director Steven Ellis and area sales manager Joe Glaze were among around 80 customers and suppliers taking part in the event at Bramshaw Golf Club earlier this autumn, with Steven enjoying himself despite his self confessed ‘woefulness’ at the game!

Organiser of the annual event, Elliotts’ drylining and Insulation group manager Ed Butcher, said this year saw record funds raised – with £1,000 going to child bereavement charity Simon Says, £750 to Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals and the remaining £5,000 plus to Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington.

“I’ve run these golf days for a few years now, but naturally we couldn’t hold one last year. We had over 80 customers attend and people were delighted to be back on the green. It’s the most we’ve ever fundraised from one of these events,” he said.

Joe, who joined Actis only a few months ago, says he enjoyed the recent event as an observer, but is looking forward to actually wielding a golf club at the 2022 event.

Steven explained: “My golf is woeful to say the least, so I’ll need to get some practice in for next year – but I’m happy for Joe to take the limelight if his swing is better than mine!”
