Actis team member boosts Cancer Research UK coffers with Race for Life challenge

Actis marketing manager Maria D’costa has raised more than £300 for Cancer Research UK by taking part in one of the country’s many Race for Life events this month.
And she is hoping to increase her total, which includes Gift Aid donations, once fellow construction colleagues hear about her efforts.
She was joined by her daughter Anica at the event in Wiltshire.
It’s the second time she has taken part in the event, which began 30 years ago, although she has been involved in fundraising activities to support other charities close to her heart over the years.
Since its inception in 1994 Race for Life has raised more than £970 million for life-saving cancer research, funding radiotherapy developments and helping more than 130,000 people with cancer across the nation.
Maria loved the experience of taking part.
“It’s an amazing charity, doing really important work, so we were proud to take part alongside so many others. Each person was doing their part, raising money for this important cause,” she said.
Maria’s fundraising portal is still open, and anyone wanting to donate can do so here.
