Actis to present Custom and Self-Build Project of the Year prize at Structural Timber Awards 2024

Actis specification manager Amaret Chahal will be presenting an award to the winner of the 2024 Structural Timber Awards Self-Build Project of the Year next month.

The awards, which take place at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham on October 2, celebrate what can be achieved using the most natural and sustainable of materials.

Actis, which has sponsored the awards for a number of years, is keen to champion the work of designers who create individual, dramatic but, crucially, environmentally-friendly buildings.

Last year the award was also presented by Amaret, who co-wrote of one of Actis’ RIBA-approved CPDs, while in 2022 it was presented by Actis regional sales director and Women in Construction ambassador Jemma Harris.

Projects shortlisted for the award include a Passivhaus project in Northamptonshire, an extension to Edinburgh Napier University and a dramatic seaside house in Wales.
