Actis e-book looks at Future Homes Standard

Actis has produced an e-book in partnership with PBC Today aimed at helping construction professionals meet the Future Homes Standard.

The 12-page booklet looks at how to meet tighter Part O and Part L legislation and flags up the guidance Actis offers on these in its RIBA-approved CPDs.

Tomorrow’s Insulation Solutions for Future Homes Standards gives guidance on how to meet energy efficiency targets which see new build homes having to reduce carbon emissions by 31% over previous levels, while Addressing the performance gap with reflective insulation looks at how to achieve as-built performance.

The booklet looks at how Actis products can help buildings stay cool, as well as warm – and draws attention to the fact that the reflective films in Eolis HC reflecting 95% of infrared radiation.

And it talks about taking a holistic, whole house approach to retrofitting for thermal efficiency, using specification PAS 2035:2019.

It contains case studies from builders and specifiers with experience of all the Actis Hybrid products as well as its two-in-one reflective insulation with an integrated vapour barrier, Eolis HC. This enables builders to reduce the number of steps required to achieve an impressive U-value as well as airtightness.

And in a world where the need to protect the environment is becoming more and more apparent, it looks at Actis’ sustainability credentials.

Actis’ honeycomb style insulation Hybris is the only reflective insulation product in the whole of Europe to have achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze certification, thanks to its product circularity, material health, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship and social fairness.

Rated A+ for its environmental impact, it has a BREEAM exemplary level of VOC release for indoor air quality and contains no harmful chemicals. It’s made with 100% recyclable components and the unique structure of the Triplex technology from which it is made allows less material to be used to achieve a U-value which would otherwise require a thicker product.

Actis has created a video, Doing More with Less,  which examines its threefold approach to sustainability.
